 Perfect smart cover and a lot more elegant than Apple's own Dec 05, 2012

Even though the case I got did not have the sleep function working, i am giving this 5 stars because it is so perfectly sophisticated and elegant, yet manages not to be unmanly in the slightest. I am also giving it 5 stars since Ebiz even notified me before receiving this case of the sleep issue, and are sending an additional,not replacement in a couple of weeks. So I will have 2 wonderful cases! I cannot say too much, how impressed I am with the customer service of this company. The case reeks of class, and feels wonderful to the touch. If you want a smart case with decent protection....look no further. I might just order another to support the company on principle. no other case comes close and I have tried more than a dozen!!!

This case is, first of all, just as the pictures and description show. It is thin, lightweight and has a nice genuine leather look and feel to it. However, when the cover is open and folded back, the magnets are so powerful (or the case is so thin) that the auto sleep feature is continuously activated. This basically renders the case unusable unless you are willing to keep a finger between the two cover flaps while using your ipad mini.
Update: I was contacted by Bear Motion customer service immediately upon writing this review and notified that this is a known issue that they are working to fix. They have promised to send out a replacement when they are finished being manufactured. I am upgrading to a four star based on the prompt reply and promise of a cover with the flaw fixed. Further update to follow upon receipt of new cover.

I ordered the product in late November and received it shortly thereafter. Within 2 days of receipt I was sent an email from the company, which contined a link to a You Tube video, explaining a production malfunction with the cover. They also said they would resend a new one when the sorted the issue out. I had also received 2 progress update emails from the company after the initial email. I have to say I was skeptical that I would receive a new case. Just yesterday I did receive the new case and it works as promised. I must say I am very impresssed with the way the management of Bear Motion dealt with the situation and for their proactive updates. Well done!

This cover increases the value of the iPad mini. This is important because the mini is a luxury product and you don't want a cover that looks or feels cheap. The Brazilian Buffalo cover is visually rich and feels elegant to the touch. The function is identical to the Smart Cover and is even better than the Apple version when rolled into stand mode. Top value.

This item took a while to arrive because some design changes were being made and the new orders were delayed. All of this information was detailed in the purchase agreement. The item came about 1 week later than expected, but it was worth the wait. The iPad mini cover snaps right into place and has a nice feel and is very light. It stays closed via a perfectly matched magnet which also turns off the screen when closed. This cover/case was for my wife and she loves the color and the feel. It also comes with a nice fabric bag to keep it protected during our travels. I highly recommend this product and when I purchase my own iPad Mini I will be ordering this product again.
